Fast… Seba puts her umbrella and diary in the bag … She closes her room’s door and goes out.
Seba – 10 years old- had carried the dearest things she has ever and went out with her parents and five siblings leaving her beloved room in Maarat al-Numan seeking protection from the barbaric bombing on the city during December 2019, to arrive with her family to the Syrian-Turkish border to face totally unknown life conditions.
Seba wrote on her diary the scenes of displacement during her movement. And as she expected that the umbrella will be her new friend due to the rainy winter there as well as her school is very far.
As for the secret of the key, she is confident that she will return to her homeroom that she once closed.
The number of displaced people reached 216,000 in December 2019, due to the escalation of the barbaric bombing targeting civilians everywhere in Maarat al-Numan, the majority of whom are children and women whose fate is uncertain and are denied of their basic rights which put their lives and future at huge risk.
It is clear that the international community is being careless about the continuing violations of humanitarian and International laws as the Humanitarian Law, that obliges all states parties, to protect the civilian population, women and children from targeting in the armed conflicts areas.
People in #Idlib need us to spread the word so the whole world bears witness and so decision-makers are held responsible for ending this humanitarian catastrophe.
