ATAA Community Centers, in cooperation with the Turkish Sports and Youth Directorate in ShanliUrfa, participated in the forestation campaign launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to plant 11 million trees in 2023 points across different Turkish states.
As a part of the campaign, it is planned to plant 11 million trees within 3 hours in 2023 points across the 81 states of Turkey, which is a new world record.
The objectives of the campaign are to increase the area of forests and the tree wealth in Turkey, and also to restore the deteriorating balance between soil, water and plants by encouraging erosion control. Other objectives are to improve biological diversity, protect environmental values, spread the love of trees and forests, and contribute to raising community awareness about the environment.
