On 9 March 2023, OCHA conducted its first in-person visit to project sites in north-west Syria, funded by the Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF). The mission involved visits to two displacement camps (New Alfaqiea camp and Al Diaa 2 camp) in Sarmada in the northern Idleb countryside. Families at the New Alfaqiea camp have received cash assistance as part of an SCHF-funded project implemented by the non-governmental organization ATAA. Fire awareness sessions were held with community members at the Al Diaa 2 camp. OCHA also visited the Sarmada water station which has benefited from chlorination treatment funded by the SCHF and implemented by ATAA.
