ATAA Humanitarian Relief Association Launches the Winter Campaign for the year 2020 AC- 1441 AH under the title “ATAA Warmth”, in order to help Syrian refugees and displaced people in Northern Syria and Southern Turkey by providing them with their winter needs that would help alleviate their constant winter suffering in the hard circumstances in which they live.
According to the campaign official, Osama Al-Muhammad, the campaign aims at reaching 500k beneficiaries of the affected people this year by enabling them to get their basic non-nutritional tools and to provide them with the needed winter equipment in seven different categories which are: Clothes, blankets, isolators for rain and ground, tents and their equipment, heating stoves and their oil for the whole winter, in addition to winter shoes. That’s all in order to limit their weaknesses during the harsh weather conditions.
A study that was prepared by the association indicated that the humanitarian conditions are extremely difficult for 4.1 million people who are internally displaced in Syria or who are refugees in different regions in the Turkish Republic. There are 2.7 million internally displaced people who are still suffering from a lot of challenges and difficulties in winter. In the regions of Idlib, Izaz and Afrin and all the way through Jarablus regions, people continue to suffer from the huge increase in fuel prices and the high living costs in general. The thing which forces people with limited and average incomes to face hard choices.
In addition to all of that, the effect of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in winter undermines the humanitarian needs and the movement of trade activities, and the recent rapid decline in the value of the Syrian Pound. Both of these put additional pressure on the people. In addition to the general impact of the pandemic on the global economy which increases the peoples’ dependence on humanitarian aid in order to meet their basic needs in winter.

Through this campaign last year, ATAA Association was able to reach more than half a million beneficiaries with donations that reached 1.5 million dollars.
