The 13 year old child ,Muhammad, is the breadwinner of a family of 9, and is eldest of them. He gets up at five in the morning, prepares his supplies himself, sits down and drinks a glass of Mate while his employer comes to take him to his work (building and cladding).
Muhammad resides with his brothers and his mother in a camp around the town of Atma. He works, but he did not leave school. He is excelled and succeeded into the eighth grade, and his dream is to return to his village from which he was displaced.(We want to go back to our village and live a good life) and to become a famous doctor who treats people and provides a decent living for his family.
Muhammad returned to work. It was a few minutes of rest after a long and hard work of transporting sand to clad the walls. The smile did not leave his face to tell us about a childhood that suffered from the misery of displacement and the misery of living in displacement camps, a smile that expresses moments of joy that foreshadows hope for a better future.
