Ataa Association for Humanitarian Relief has launched the non-formal education project for students who drop out of education in the northern Syrian camps, which aims to provide tents for the education of students who have been cut off and not formally enrolled in the education sector for reasons beyond their control.
Mr. Aladdin Al-Najjar, Director of the Education Program at Ataa Organization, said that the project will benefit more than 1,600 students who have been cut off from education, where 12 classroom tents dedicated to education have been established which are provided by UNICEF, and the rest of the educational points will be completed, bringing their number to 37 classroom tents before the end of this year.
Mr. Al-Najjar pointed to the educational importance of the project, since non-formal education will contribute to giving opportunities to students who have interrupted their education to re-integrate and rehabilitate them into formal education again.
The non-formal education project for students focuses on providing an appropriate environment to raise their educational level by providing them with knowledge and experience and strengthening them socially, so it enables them to build themselves and prepare them to return to education.
Al-Najjar added that the most important difficulties and challenges facing informal education in the northern regions of Syria are the spread of the Coronavirus, which has cast a shadow over the education sector, and the lack of support for the restoration of all schools that have been bombed. , Which led tototal or partial sabotage and its departure from the educational process, in addition to the absence of supplies and equipment such as stationery, seats, school books, and harsh climatic conditions.
Children in the camps in northern Syria are considered the most affected group in society as a result of the war, especially in the field of education, while Ataa Association is trying to overcome these difficulties, which threaten an entire generation with ignorance and weakness.
Ataa Association has worked since 2013 in the field of education as a humanitarian and development organization, whether through building educational facilities, schools and training centers, or providing sponsorships for students and teachers.
