A delegation from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and representatives of the cash sector visited Ataa Association office in the city of Al-Bab in Aleppo countryside, northern Syria.
During its visit, which was on Wednesday, the 4th of this month, the delegation met with representatives of humanitarian bodies, organizations and associations working in the region, where the challenges and difficulties they face during fieldwork were discussed, in addition to the region’s basic needs and the coordination mechanism between bodies and organizations working in the region.
Representatives of the cash sector also met with some of the beneficiaries of its project activities from all operating organizations and bodies to discuss the best means of intervention and the difficulties they may encounter during the implementation of these activities.
During the visit, several topics were raised, most notably the emergency response to disasters and the waves of displacement resulting from the bombing that civilians were subjected to in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, and ways to facilitate the access mechanism for those affected and meet their necessary needs.
It is noteworthy that the Ataa Humanitarian Relief Association was one of the first institutions to respond to our people affected by the bombing from the first moment. In addition, it carried out many supporting activities, including the provision of mattresses and blankets, establishing shelter centers, and launching mobile clinics in addition to evacuation and first aid teams provided by psychological support clinics and others.
